This past weekend I got to take a trip by myself to the beach to meet a friend from home that I had not seen since we moved. As many times as we have made the trip back to Opelika, our schedules have never worked out so that we were able to hang out and catch up. So back in the summer, Jenny and I planned to meet at the beach for a little weekend getaway. It was so much fun and oh so relaxing. We got there late Friday afternoon and once we got settled, we headed straight to Pier Park to eat dinner at The Back Porch and hit up the Carter's store. Saturday was spent lounging on the beach all day, followed by dinner at Captain Anderson's and another trip back to Pier Park to do some more shopping. We had breakfast at Another Broken Egg on Sunday morning before heading back to our families.

Daniel kept the kids here and they had some fun of their own while Mommy was away...
Daniel took them to a fall festival at a nearby church where Maddox got to have his first pony ride. Sorry for the blurry picture... not too sure why. And this little stinker was into everything as usual...

I am so thankful for such a sweet, hands-on husband who does not see it as a chore to keep the kiddos for me to get a little break. I am a lucky lady!
