9 Months Old

Really??  9 whole months??  Maclain is growing right on track and we received a great report at her appointment this morning.  Here are her stats:

Height - 26 3/4... 22%
Weight - 19 lb. 3 oz... 68%
Head - 44 cm... 55%

Some tidbits about Maclain at 9 months:

-Still sleeping really well at night... usually 11-12 hours
-Wears size 4 diapers and 9 month clothes
-Now has 2 teeth... bottom middle ones
-Pulls up on anything she can and will stand for long periods while holding on.  Sometimes she will walk short distances while holding our hands
-Goes from crawling to sitting consistently now
-Just started standing in her bed so we had to lower the crib a couple of nights ago
-Has given in to stranger anxiety and prefers me or Daniel most of the time
-Does not like Puffs or Cheerios yet
-Has started waving... sometimes in the right context and sometimes not

Happy 9 months sweet girl!! :)

My Brother Got Married

My brother got married on Saturday... it was a super fun, crazy weekend but I can report that everything went smoothly and they are now honeymooning in Jamaica.  We left Thursday night when Daniel got off work and came back Sunday evening.  Daniel and I were both in the wedding and we had a great time celebrating with Wil and Erica. The weekend was full and seemed so short... I had forgotten how much goes into planning/executing a wedding!  I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I should have, but here are a few...

Me, Erica and our moms at the brunch

Before I left for the brunch... Daniel had baby duty!

We Have a Preschooler

Maddox started Timberlane's preschool program Monday morning.  He is going 2 mornings a week right now and I am so thankful that he is loving it.  It really helps that it is at our church, so he is very familiar with the setup, classrooms, teachers, etc...  This morning on the way to drop him off he said, "Mommy, I don't want to cry... Mrs. Martha makes me happy!"  Mrs. Martha is his teacher and I know he will have a wonderful year.  I look forward to going to his programs and being a part of his cute little class.  There are several kids that he already knows, one from church and another from a playgroup.  I love driving up to get him and seeing the huge smile on his face... it sure beats the tears we have seen in the past!  I am thankful that I don't have to worry about him while he is there and I know that he is in a safe environment.

On our way to preschool
Maddox loved it so much, in fact, that yesterday afternoon after his nap he wanted to "play preschool" and he came up with this setup of the teacher and his classmates:

We love our sweet boy and can't wait to see everything he learns this year!

First Bow

I never thought the day would come...

Maclain finally has enough hair to get a tiny little bow to stay put for a little while.  It has to be the right size... not too heavy.  And it can't have ribbon on the metal part that actually holds the hair.  But if the stars align, we can get one to stay for just a bit.  I am one happy momma (although she's been the cutest little bald thing I have ever seen, too)!

On the Road Again (Part 2)

Wednesday morning we left Nashville and headed south to meet my family for a few days on Lake Martin.  We were looking forward to some fun in the sun and relaxation, and that's just what we got!  It was a great few days of boat riding, pool swimming, sand digging, and so much more!  What a fun way to end our trip!

We loved every minute of our trip but were SO GLAD to get back home to Daddy!  We missed him a ton and are so thankful he didn't mind us going "on tour".  :)

On The Road Again (Part 1)

Sometimes I feel like our Odyssey has turned into a tour bus.  We are on the road A LOT, especially lately.  I am not complaining... I love that we have the flexibility to do that right now and I am thankful we are getting to see family on a regular basis.  I want our kids to be close to their grandparents, so that means we keep the road hot!  We left last Friday morning to start our trek up to Nashville to see Daniel's family for several days.  The kids and I left in the morning and decided to split the trip up since I was traveling alone.  We got to Opelika in time for lunch and naps, then had a fun afternoon hanging out.  We spent the night and left bright and early Saturday morning around 7:45 and got to Nashville about 12:15.  Both kids did really well, all things considered!  We had a great time while we were there and we hated to leave!

We played inside a lot...

Played outside a lot...

Went swimming...

Went to the zoo...

and went to Monkey's Treehouse...

Thank you Lolli and G for letting the kids and me come hang out! Y'all are the best!!
