20 Months Old

As of 5 days ago we officially have a 20 month old...

This little thing is such a mess!  Her little big personality is coming out more and more each day.  She is exactly the age that Maddox was when Maclain was born.  I have to admit, I am glad we still have a little over 2 months before Miller arrives! :)

Some things Maclain is doing at 20 months:
-Sleeping in her full size bed like a champ
-Tries more and more new foods, especially if they are from my plate
-LOVES to snack
-Is beginning to enter the pretending stage
-We moved her up to a size 5 diaper
-She loves to be the boss, especially to her brother :)  Her favorite thing is to say, "No, Mammix!!"
-My favorite phrase right now is when one of us sneezes she will say, "Bess you, ______"
-Is beginning to do puzzles a little bit
-Wants to do everything herself, especially buckling herself into seats
-Is becoming more of a Daddy's girl and gets so so excited when Daniel comes in the door from work
-Has a mouth full of teeth
-Wears bows now without pulling them out
-Her favorite character is probably Barney, but she goes along with pretty much anything Maddox likes watching
-Will say pretty much anything, and her newest phrase is, "Mommy, watch!"  Then she will do some sort of trick.
-Can count to ten, but leaves out a few numbers.  It usually goes, "1,2,3,4,6,8,10"
-Does not typically travel well unless you hand her snack after snack
-She stays busy and is now in the phase where she hates being contained, making eating out very difficult!  We like choosing places now where we can eat outside b/c that seems to help.

We love our little girl so much and look forward to each new stage with her! :)

July Trip(s)

Last Monday the kids and I left for a trip to my parents' house.  We enjoyed our trip so much and had a very full week while we were there.  It was awesome.

We got there Monday at lunchtime and enjoyed eating at Niffer's at the Tracks.  The kids napped in the afternoon and that night I met my friend Jenny at Amsterdam for dinner.  It is becoming a little tradition that we enjoy.  I love catching up with her!

On Tuesday we left early to head to Atlanta and go to the Children's Museum.  Thomas was able to go along with us and Maddox especially loved having his company.  The kids had such a great time and were pooped by the time we got back!

On Wednesday morning we went to the splash park and let the kids enjoy the pretty weather!

On Thursday morning we hung out at my parents' pool...

On Friday I left to go up to Guntersville for a girls' weekend.  I only snapped one picture the entire time but we had SO MUCH FUN!  It was a great getaway and I miss all of these lovely ladies so much!!

Daniel came up to Opelika Friday night when he got off work to do some much needed work on our Opelika house that we are renting.  We are getting ready to put it back on the market and to say that he worked hard all weekend is such an understatement!  I miss this little house...

I came back from Guntersville Sunday around lunchtime and we all ate at my parents' house before loading up the kids and heading back to Tallahassee.  It was such a fun, full week and I am thankful for the opportunity we had to be there!

Miller's Crib Bedding

I finished Miller's crib bedding last week and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off to have it done.  It's not a hard job, but it sure is a long one.  Maddox and Maclain stayed in Nashville for a few extra days last week with Lolli and G, which gave me some time to get things done around here.  I was determined to crank out that bedding.

I am really happy with how the colors look together and I hope that one day Miller will appreciate the time that went into this labor of love. :)  Now, we plan to get started on the nursery full force in the next few weeks.  We are painting the walls a light gray and are planning to use the white dresser and bookcase that are in Maddox's room.  So now I am on the lookout for a darker wood dresser for Maddox's room and Daniel is planning to build him a headboard to match whatever dresser we find.  It's fruit basket turnover around here as far as furniture goes b/c we are trying to be economical.  It's all a work in progress and I know we will get there eventually.  We still have 11 1/2 weeks, right??

Big Girl Bed

We made a last minute decision to move Maclain up to a big girl bed at the beginning of last week (as in, we were finishing dinner at 7:30 Monday night and decided to go for it... like, right then).  We knew we were going to be starting the nursery right after the 4th and would need a place to put the full size bed that was in the guest/sewing room.  So we skipped the toddler bed stage that we did with Maddox and moved her on up.  Crazy?  Maybe, but I have to say, she has done very well.  She has only had 3 nights in it since the move because we/they have been out of town for over a week, but I am amazed at how well she has adjusted.  The first 2 nights before we left town she cried for a minute or so when we put her down, but went on to sleep and slept all night.  Then last night (her first night back at home in over a week after sleeping in a crib while we were gone) there were no tears and she slept until almost 9:00 this morning.  We are proud of our big girl!

4th of July

We headed north to Nashville for the 4th this year.  We left Wednesday night after Daniel got off work and spent the night with my family in Opelika to break up the trip.  We left Opelika around 7:45 on Thursday morning and after driving through tons of rain, we finally made to Nashville around 12:15 and met everyone for lunch.  We had a great time while we were there and the kids were excited to do lots of swimming, despite the terrible weather.

Playin' in the driveway :)

We really enjoyed visiting with family and hanging out in Nashville!  It's weird to think that the next time we go we will have 3 children! :)

Here are my cuties in their 4th of July outfits I made them...

26 Week Update

Here is little baby Miller at 26 weeks...

I went back to the doctor a couple of weeks ago and everything is still going well.  I had my blood glucose test last Friday and as far as I know, everything checked out ok.  I will go back at 28 weeks and at that appointment I will have to get my Rhogam shot. :(  I have to get these with all of my pregnancies because since Daniel and I have opposing blood types (I have a negative blood type and he has a positive one), and since Maddox ended up being positive too, my body would try to fight off pregnancies.  They are pretty painful, but so worth it to be able to carry these sweet babies!

I am feeling pretty good and am almost to the 3rd trimester already.  I am in full nesting mode (more on that later) and have started on the crib bedding.  We are in the midst of a pretty full summer and I have a feeling that before I can blink, Fall will be here and so will Miller.  We can't wait to meet him/her.  I can't wait for that moment when Daniel gets to tell me, "It's a _______!")
