Timberlane Egg Hunt

This morning we made our way over to Centerville Conservation for our church Easter egg hunt.  They had a bounce house for the kids and it's also on a lake so those who wanted to fish were able to.  Maddox just got a new fishing rod for his birthday so he was eager to try it out.  We packed a picnic lunch and stayed most of the morning.  We had a great time and so did the kids!

Best attempt at a sibling picture :)

Preschool Egg Hunt and Party

Yesterday was Timberlane's Easter egg hunt and party for the preschool kids.  Maddox doesn't go to school on Fridays but since I was in charge of the party we made our way up to the school in time for me to help hide eggs and set up the food.  The two younger classes did their egg hunt inside of the fenced-in playground so it kept the kids nice and contained.  Maddox really enjoyed looking for his eggs and then eating some snacks afterward.  We are having a busy weekend full of Easter fun!

Recent Sewing/Monogramming

I try to always take pictures of things that I make/monogram but I don't always do anything with them.  I have not done much sewing lately b/c I haven't been very productive during naptime as of late, but I have managed to do a few orders here and there.

Today I monogrammed Kate's Easter dress

Monogrammed dress for Audrey

Stacked monogram outfit for Sawyer, to match dress above

Blanket I made and monogrammed as part of a crib bedding set

Fitted crib sheet and box pleat crib skirt... my favorite!

Special request camo burpcloth for a baby girl

Another special request burpcloth

Bennett's birthday shirt :)

Cafe curtains and hand towel for my friend Amy

Birthday shirt for Alyssah's poodle party

Little boy burpcloths

More boy burpcloths

Little girl baby gift

I am so glad that I took the time a few years back to learn how to sew... it's such a great outlet and comes in handy more times than I can count!

3 Year Check Up

We went in bright and early for Maddox's 3 year checkup this morning.  If I have not mentioned it before, we LOVE our new doctor's office!  We changed practices around 6 months ago and I am so glad that we did.  We love the staff and have never had to wait a really long time.

Anyway, here are his stats:
Height: 35 1/4 inches
Weight: 30.8 pounds

They did a hearing and vision test, both of which he passed with flying colors, thank goodness!  He was a Mr. Chatterbox and showed off how verbal he is.  I am thankful he didn't have to get any shots b/c right now he loves going to the doctor and I would like to keep it that way for a while!   I am thankful for my healthy, growing boy!

Maddox's 3rd Birthday

Today our sweet Maddox turned 3 years old.  I just can't believe it!  Since his birthday fell on a Saturday it worked out so that we could do his party on his actual birthday.  I had been planning for the longest to do it at Tom Brown Park so that's what we did.  This is the last year I plan to do an outdoor party for a while because it poured!  I thought about changing the location of the party to Chick-fil-A at the last minute, but we thought there was a slight chance it would not rain, and I also knew with the amount of kids that were coming, the playplace would be so crowded the kids wouldn't have fun.  So we toughed it out and held our plans.

The party started at 10:00 and sure enough about 9:45 the rain started falling.  As soon as all the kids got there we went ahead and did cupcakes and let Maddox open his presents.  Right after he finished with presents, the rain stopped for about 30 minutes and we brought out towels and dried off what we could.  The kids really didn't mind the rain as much as it bothered me.  They had a great time, anyway, and all things considered the party went really well.  We came home, ate lunch, and then laid the kids down for a nap.  Daniel had to work to get Maddox to wake up just before 6:00.  He was exhausted.

I didn't take a lot of pictures b/c the day was so crazy, but here are the few I managed to get. I am so thankful for the friends who braved the weather and stuck it out with us.  It really meant a lot!!

Donuts with Dad

Last week Timberlane had Donuts with Dad at preschool.  Maddox was super excited about his daddy coming to school to eat donuts with him and I begged a couple of the teachers there to snag a picture for me if they thought about it.  Thankfully, a little while after dropping Maddox off, I got this picture message from Janay...

I know they had fun and I am thankful Maddox has such a committed and loving Daddy!  Daniel even got to bring home a cute card Maddox made especially for him...

He looks so big in this picture!  I am eagerly awaiting his 3 year checkup that is next week to see how much he has grown.  Maddox is such a sweet, smart, sensitive child and I am so thankful he's ours!

5

Yesterday marked 5 years since this...

It feels so strange to me that 5 years ago, on St. Patrick's Day, we were skiing with our friends Brad and Sarah and we got engaged at the top of the mountain at Keystone.  It was one of the very best moments of my life and I am so thankful for the marriage Daniel and I have.  I remember being so nervous when I realized that he was about to propose, and then I skiied down the rest of the mountain without my glove on looking at my ring b/c I could not believe it had really happened!

Now, 5 years later, we have 2 amazing children and another on the way.  We have been busy to say the least!  I love our simple little life more than anything and I would not trade it for the world!

Now, if we could just get back out to Colorado sometime soon. ;)

Baby Bump

I will be 11 weeks on Sunday and I am definitely beginning to look more and more pregnant.  It depends on what I am wearing as to whether or not it is really noticable, but I can tell for sure.  I am looking forward to the 2nd trimester and am hoping that I will start to feel better.  I have good and bad days, but have started to notice I have been feeling a bit better as this week has gone on.  I am mostly past the "I am so tired I can't think straight" days and have a little more energy than I did around 8 weeks.  For memory's sake, here are a few things I want to jot down:

-As long as I eat frequently throughout the day, I don't feel as nauseous these days
-I am having a hard time eating ground beef and anything that is leftover from a previous meal
-Every time I tell Maddox that I am not feeling good, he asks if my belly hurts because of the baby.  Then he says, "I'm so sorry Mommy!"  It's pretty cute!
-I can't keep up with our house these days... I am blaming it on the lack of energy.  I will get back on track soon!
-I am thirsty ALL THE TIME and am keeping water close by
-Right now I am thinking this baby is a boy, but I don't have anything logical to base that on.  I don't believe any of the old wives' tales that supposedly help you to know what you are having.  Only time will tell.

Can't believe we are already 1/4 of the way there!

Daddy Duty

On Friday night our church had the first night of their ladies' retreat and since several of us were all going, the dads decided to get together with the kids and hang out.  The 6 of us girls happened to be sitting at the same table and a couple of hours into the night, we all got this picture text at the same time...

Clearly, it looks as if everyone is having a great time and I know the dads had fun, too.  But what made me laugh is Maddox in the back right corner wearing a pirate dress.  He loves going over to Kate's house to play and especially loves her dress up collection. :)  I am sure it has to do with the fact that we don't have any of those toys at our house, so he is very intrigued with them at her house.  I don't know where Maclain was in the picture, but I heard she was pretty clingy to her daddy all night.

I know all of us girls were very thankful to our husbands for making our night out possible!

Low-Key Mornings

Just a little taste of our mornings around here...

A little color time

Silly girl!

Sharing some water

Helping Mommy make pancakes

Snack time (Yes, still in our jammies!)
I am so guilty of wanting to be out and about in the mornings and sometimes it's just nice to hang out and have low-key mornings at home.  (I guess it helps that I barely have the energy to get dressed, much less go out!)

We are thrilled it's the weekend!
