Maddox Starts T-Ball

This past Saturday, Maddox was introduced to the world of team sports.  We signed him up for T-Ball through Deer Lake United Methodist Church.  The whole season is only 6 weeks and it's about as basic as you can get... perfect for 4 year olds who have not experienced team sports yet.  It is only for 6 consecutive Saturdays.  They start with practice, then have a 15 minute devotional time, then play a "game".  Let's just say that we have a lot to work on as far as becoming a team player ;).  Maddox wanted to get every ball that was hit and be the batter every time.  It doesn't work that way, buddy.  There were lots of tears shed on Saturday but he assures us he will do better next week.  We shall see!

Maddox definitely had the cutest cheering section...

Hopefully he will have a better attitude about it this Saturday.  He has come down each morning wearing his hat and sometimes brings his glove down, too, so at least he is thinking about it!  :)

Trip to the Museum

Yesterday was a gorgeous day and my friend Renee invited us to come with them to the Tallahassee Museum.  It had been a really long time since we had been, so I was excited about going.  We saw all of the animals, had lunch, then played on the playground for a while.  It was a much needed break from our normal trips to the park each day!

The scenery at the museum is absolutely gorgeous and I hope we can go back before it turns brutally hot! :)

Easter 2014

We went to Opelika for Easter this year to spend time with my family.  We had a great trip!

Happy Easter!!

Sweet sisters in their matching dresses :)

I especially love this one b/c Miller was giggling at Maddox

The kids with Nana and Pop

The Easter Bunny made a visit to Nana and Pop's house while we were there and the kids were excited about their goodies...

On Saturday night Thomas and Tucker came over and we had an outdoor egg hunt in the dark.  I hid a silver egg (wrapped in aluminum foil) that had a special treat inside... a $5 bill.  Maddox was the happy hunter who found that one. :)  They loved using their flashlights and headlights to find the eggs!

Love that smile, Maclain ;)
It was a great Easter and we look forward to many more!

Miller - 6 Months

Miller turned 6 months old on the 4th.  How can she be half a year old already??

Weight: 17 pounds, 11 ounces

Miller is such a sweet, happy baby.  She is sitting up on her own now and I don't have to worry as much about her toppling over if I walk away.  She will still go to pretty much anyone and doesn't seem to mind me leaving her.  She is starting to jabber a little bit and make a few sounds.  Riding in the car is still her least favorite activity. ;)  She is very much into her baby foods now, and still takes four 7-ounce bottles a day.  She loves being played with and especially loves it when Maddox and Maclain show her lots of attention.  Maclain has started referring to her as "My baby Miller" and she and Maddox both love holding her.  She is great about putting herself to sleep and sleeps about 12 hours straight each night.  She takes 2 naps a day (sometimes 3) and is a pretty happy camper most of the time.  We love you Miller Lee!

Spring is Here!

Spring is officially here and we are soaking up our time outside!  After the big kids had preschool today, we came home and had a picnic lunch in our yard.  I don't know why, but when I told them we were eating outside, you would have thought I had told them we were going to Disney World.  They were so excited!

After lunch, they enjoyed some time playing outside before we came in for naps.

I sure hope Spring is here to stay!

Disney Jr. Live Performance

On Friday night Maddox and I went on a special outing to see Disney Jr. Live - Sophia the First and Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  It was an awesome show and I am so glad we were able to go!  We got our tickets several months back, so we had been anticipating it for quite a while!  We met Rebecca and Kate before the show and had dinner at Moe's, then headed over to the civic center.

Maddox wore his Peter Pan birthday shirt, and I made Kate's princess shirt. :)

So excited to see the show!!

My big 4 year old!
We arrived about 45 minutes early, so we had some time to kill before the big event started.  We got to see a little Doc McStuffins show while we were waiting, so that was an added bonus!  Maddox must have asked me a billion times when he was going to see Jake. :)  Finally, it was time for the show!  They started with Sophia the First...

Cinderella made a special appearance too!

After the intermission it was time for Jake and the Neverland Pirates!!

It truly was the coolest show!  Maddox loved seeing all his favorite characters and has talked about it a ton since last weekend.  What a fun night!

A special thanks to Kristen for ordering the tickets so we could all sit together!
