First Movie

All summer long, one of our movie theaters is offering $1 movies for kids on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.  I decided to take Maddox this morning and see how he liked it.  It ended up being a better deal than I thought b/c he actually got in free since he's only two.  The movie today was Yogi Bear... I thought it was kinda cute, but I think Maddox would have been a lot more into it if it would have been animated.  So we only made it about 45 minutes, which was actually longer than I expected.  He had a good time and maybe we will try it again with a movie that will hold his attention a little better...

Trains, Trains, and More Trains

The Big Bend Railroad Association was having a train exhibit at the Tallahassee Fairgrounds this year.  I found out about it very last minute, but decided that we should definitely go since Maddox loves him some trains! :)  I was unsure about how it would be at first, but I ended up being very glad that we went.  Maddox loved every minute of it and was a very unhappy camper when we had to leave.  Maclain was a trooper (as usual) and liked looking at all of the trains with her big brother.  Lolli was in town, too, so that made it even better! We may just have to go back again next year!

Playdate

This morning I had the pleasure of watching one of my friend's two little boys while their momma got some things done without kiddos in tow.  We are alternating each week... one week she watches my kids and then I watch her kids the next week.  Everyone had a great time this morning... we headed outside even though the word "hot" does not even do this weather justice!  The boys really enjoyed playing together and it was nice to have them entertain each other for a little while!

We were leaving a friend's first birthday party this afternoon and Maddox was just a talkin' in the backseat.  He paused for half a second and when I turned around to look at him, this is what I found...

It is RARE that he falls asleep in the car anymore... he must have had himself a good ol' time at the party!  There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping child! :)

Another One Bites The Dust

This cutie-patootie has gotten her big brother's sickness.  She woke up yesterday morning much later than normal running fever so I gave it until this morning before heading back to the doctor.  The good news is that she does not have strep, so no antibiotic for her!  The bad news is that we don't know what it is... but we are thankful nothing too bad seems to be going on.  This little one has been a trooper - she is pretty snuggly when she is sick, which is super sweet! 

My parents came to the rescue Monday afternoon and have been here to help me through this week.  It has been AWESOME having some extra hands to help out and love on my 2 sick kiddos.  Maddox is starting to feel much better so that's great too!  We are ready to be well around here, so we can go out and play!  We have a fun weekend planned so hopefully we will get to enjoy the weekend together (sans the germs)!

No Fun

Well, this has not been the weekend I envisioned.  Maddox has been sick since yesterday morning so we are all cooped up.  Bless his heart, he has been pitiful.  It is looking like strep throat and I hope it will run its course and go away quickly!  The doctor could not get a good swab of his throat last night but is pretty sure that's what it is.  Maddox has spent most of his weekend like this...

  I was able to catch him feeling a tad better this morning and he wanted to play with his sunglasses...

The poor little guy has had a rough 24 hours so far.  He is already napping this morning and I am hoping he will be feeling back to his old self soon!  Being sick is no fun!!  Not to mention Daniel has been gone on a deep sea fishing trip all weekend, so I have been doing this jig solo... he will be home in a couple of hours, though, so all will be right in the world again soon.
