18 Months Old

Here we are at 18 months...

Is she a cutie or what?? :)

Here are her stats:
-Weight: 23 lbs., 1 ounce
-Height: 30.25 inches
-Head: 46 cm

Sweet Maclain really seems to be getting so big these days!  Some things about her for memory's sake:
-Only has pacis at night/nap time
-A decent eater, but still loves crackers and snack foods the most
-Sleeps wonderfully... naps around 3 hours a day and sleeps about 11 hours a night
-Loves to do anything Maddox is doing.  She is fearless!
-Climbs all the way up in the play place at Chick-fil-A and does it all on her own.
-Right now she is not loving the pool, but I am sure that will change the more time we spend there!
-Says lots of words, and is especially great at saying, "thank you" when you give her something.  She will say it over and over until you tell her "you're welcome".  Super cute!  My other favorite phrase right now is "love you". 
-Is getting more and more into books and will sit through several each night before bed
-Loves to take her shoes off, especially in the car
-Is better about staying through Bible class, but the nursery is still hit or miss
-She loves going to story time at the library each week!

Memorial Day Weekend

This past weekend we were lucky enough to have Lolli come visit us!  She got to Tallahassee on Thursday and was able to stay through Tuesday.  She got to see Maddox's end of the year program at preschool and enjoy lots of fun activities with us!  We went to our neighborhood pool, played at the park, played at home and went out to lunch most days.  We love it when Lolli comes because she is such a big help!

Last Minute Fun

On Sunday we made a very last minute decision to drive over to Panama City and spend the afternoon at the beach.  We figured it would be a fairly easy trip since we didn't have to take very much with us.  Sometimes these ideas seem a lot better in my mind and don't play out nearly as well, but thankfully this wasn't one of those times.  Maddox is at the perfect age for the beach and was very much into it.  It took Maclain a little longer to warm up to the idea, but after a little bit she was down in the sand with the best of 'em.  It was a great afternoon and very well worth the drive, even if we only got in a few hours on the beach!

Mother's Day 2013

This year for Mother's Day we got to go back home to Opelika to spend the weekend with my family.  We got there late Friday night and stayed through Sunday afternoon.  Weekend trips always seem too short, but I do love it when Daniel gets to come with us!  We miss him when he isn't able to make it! 

On Saturday we had a big family get-together for my Grandmother's 89th birthday which is later this month.  We had Mike & Ed's BBQ and lots of yummy sides and desserts.  I hate I didn't take any pictures, but a great time was had by all!  Then on Sunday we went to church and enjoyed a nice lunch at my parents' house afterwards.  It was truly perfect!  I am so thankful for this family of mine!

18 Week Ultrasound

This morning was our 18 week ultrasound.  It is amazing how quickly the time is flying by this time!  We were able to see that Miller is nice and healthy and is measuring pretty much on schedule.  We told the tech when we walked in that we didn't want to know the gender, so she had us look away during the parts where you might have been able to tell.  The heart rate was 137 and Miller was "very active" according to the ultrasound lady. I am so thankful that we appear to have a healthy baby boy or girl growing in there!  I won't go back to the doctor until 24 weeks (he is letting me space my appointments out every 6 weeks) so hopefully there won't be much to report until then!

A Trip to the Fire Station

Last Tuesday our church playgroup met at the fire station for a little "playdate".  The firemen explained a lot about what they do and let the kids see everything up close and personal.  It really was a neat trip and Maddox really was into it.  I invited a couple friends who came with us and we all had a great time!

Fun Visit

Lydia came in town on Tuesday with her boys, Cooper and Levi.  They stayed through this morning and I am so thankful they took the time out of their busy lives to come hang out with us.  Maddox really loved having Cooper here to play with him and was so sad to see him go!  Since we only had one full day we didn't do too much, except take the kids to Winthrop Park on Wednesday and out to lunch.  They also enjoyed lots of time playing in our backyard and digging in the sandbox.  I really miss all of our play dates that we had when we lived in the same town, but I am so thankful we aren't that far away!
