Belated Anniversary Trip

This past weekend Daniel and I took a belated anniversary trip to Atlanta to celebrate 5 years!  We spent 3 nights and it was so fun to be away for several days without any responsibilities!  Don and Lynn came down from Nashville and stayed with the kids here at our house while we were gone.  We left Friday mid-afternoon and got to Atlanta in time to check into our hotel and go to dinner.  The Varsity was within walking distance, so that's what we decided on for Friday night.  I had never eaten there, and it sure was delicious!

Saturday morning we had breakfast at Krispy Kreme before heading over to a nearby theater to see Saving Mr. Banks.  I had been wanting to see it for a while and I am so glad we did.  We even had the whole theater to ourselves... I guess most people don't go to the movies at 10:30 in the morning?? :)  After that we ate lunch and headed over to IKEA to do some shopping.  I love that place!!

Krispy Kreme!

Love this store!!

After Ikea, we shopped around in Atlantic Station before heading to Cheesecake Factory to meet our friends Jamie and Gorham for dinner.  It was sooooo good to see them and catch up!  We had not seen Gorham at all since we moved!

Dinner was delish!

Me and Jamie (and baby Owen)
After dinner we headed back to the hotel and crashed early.  Sunday morning we were planning to meet April and her parents for church (April was in Atlanta the same weekend visiting her family), but we accidentally went to the wrong church (oops!) so we just met them for brunch afterwards.  I meant to take a picture, but totally forgot.  We had a great time hanging out with them, though!  Sunday afternoon we headed back over to Atlantic Station to see their Titanic exhibit.  After that, we walked over to the theater there and saw Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.  I can't remember the last time we went to the movies before this trip, much less 2 movies in one weekend!  After the movie, we went to dinner at Benihana, a Japanese Steakhouse.  Yummo!

Monday morning we hit the road to come back and see our kiddos.  It was such a nice, relaxing weekend and we were so spoiled to having no set schedule.  It was great for the kids, too, getting so much time with Lolli and G.  They had some fun of their own while we were away!

Maclain Starts Preschool

Maclain has started going to preschool with Maddox and this past Friday was her first day.  We were planning to wait until Fall when Maddox starts VPK, but some things changed at the last minute, so here we are!

She was adamant about holding her bag!

Maddox wanted a picture with her too!
I think Maddox was more excited than she was... he was talking the whole way there about how he was going to watch over her and how he wanted to sit next to her at chapel.  He asked me, "How am I going to watch over my sister if we aren't in the same class?"  Too cute!  She did great going in, but when we got to her door, she stopped and refused to go any further.  She got pretty upset and wanted me to hold her.  Her teacher, Mrs. Amy, went and got Maddox out of his class and told Maclain he was going to play with her for a little bit.  That did the trick.  She was great after that and they said he only had to stay with her for a few minutes.  She got a great report and her favorite activity of the day was the rice table.  I am excited they will be at the same school until Maddox goes to Kindergarten.  We love Timberlane preschool!

Miller - 3 Months Old

And just like that, 3 months have gone by...

I am late posting this because I have been having blogger issues, but I think I have finally gotten them worked out.  Anyway, here are some things about Miller at 3 months:

-She is a very happy baby and pretty much only fusses when she is ready for a nap or she is hungry (or riding in the car... she doesn't love that).
-She goes to bed around 8:00 or 8:30 and is back to waking up to eat once during the night.  I am ready for her to sleep completely through the night, but I am also thankful she goes back down easily after that feeding.
-She has started laughing some and is so smiley!
-She is in 3-6 month clothes
-She loves her play mat and hangs out there a lot!
-She is still our easiest baby so far
-She coos all the time!
-She rolls from stomach to back
-She has found her hands and is very intrigued by them
-She still sleeps swaddled for both naps and bedtime, and goes down for both very easily
-She loves taking a bath
-The completely loses it when you put her down to make her bottle
-She loves it when Maddox and Maclain talk to her... she smiles so big!

We are completely smitten with Miller and love her to pieces! :)
