Belated Anniversary Trip

This past weekend Daniel and I took a belated anniversary trip to Atlanta to celebrate 5 years!  We spent 3 nights and it was so fun to be away for several days without any responsibilities!  Don and Lynn came down from Nashville and stayed with the kids here at our house while we were gone.  We left Friday mid-afternoon and got to Atlanta in time to check into our hotel and go to dinner.  The Varsity was within walking distance, so that's what we decided on for Friday night.  I had never eaten there, and it sure was delicious!

Saturday morning we had breakfast at Krispy Kreme before heading over to a nearby theater to see Saving Mr. Banks.  I had been wanting to see it for a while and I am so glad we did.  We even had the whole theater to ourselves... I guess most people don't go to the movies at 10:30 in the morning?? :)  After that we ate lunch and headed over to IKEA to do some shopping.  I love that place!!

Krispy Kreme!

Love this store!!

After Ikea, we shopped around in Atlantic Station before heading to Cheesecake Factory to meet our friends Jamie and Gorham for dinner.  It was sooooo good to see them and catch up!  We had not seen Gorham at all since we moved!

Dinner was delish!

After dinner we headed back to the hotel and crashed early.  Sunday morning we were planning to meet April and her parents for church (April was in Atlanta the same weekend visiting her family), but we accidentally went to the wrong church (oops!) so we just met them for brunch afterwards.  I meant to take a picture, but totally forgot.  We had a great time hanging out with them, though!  Sunday afternoon we headed back over to Atlantic Station to see their Titanic exhibit.  After that, we walked over to the theater there and saw Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.  I can't remember the last time we went to the movies before this trip, much less 2 movies in one weekend!  After the movie, we went to dinner at Benihana, a Japanese Steakhouse.  Yummo!

Monday morning we hit the road to come back and see our kiddos.  It was such a nice, relaxing weekend and we were so spoiled to having no set schedule.  It was great for the kids, too, getting so much time with Lolli and G.  They had some fun of their own while we were away!
