A Fun Visit

A couple of weekends ago, my friend Katie and her son David drove up from Tallahassee to visit us.  It was so nice of her to come such a long way and see us, and we managed to squeeze in several fun things during the short time they were here.  They stayed in a hotel Thursday night about 3 hours south of Charlotte.  They got to our house just before lunch on Friday, just in time to go with us to get Maddox from preschool.  Maddox was so excited when David came in his classroom and he couldn't wait to show him everything he has been doing at his new school.  We took the kids to eat lunch and play at McDonald's, then we came home and they played until dinner.  We ate pizza and threw David a mini ninja turtles birthday party, since we couldn't celebrate with him in FL.  They really enjoyed eating cupcakes and singing to David!

On Saturday morning, we made our way over to Sky Zone and let the kids bounce their hearts out on the trampolines.  They had a lot of fun and I am glad we went as early as we did b/c by the time we left there were several birthday parties going on and it got crowded fast!

After Sky Zone, we went across the street and had lunch in the food court at the mall...

Miller stayed home with Daddy on Saturday, but she sure was happy to see Mrs. Katie walk through the door when we got back...

We had such a fun weekend and we can't wait to see them again when we go back to Tallahassee in April!  We miss our friends! :)

A Taste of Spring

The weekend before last we had some amazingly nice weather that allowed us to get out and get some much needed fresh air.  On Sunday afternoon after naps, we went to a local park and it was just what we needed!  We took the kids' bikes, Maddox's kite, a ball, and had a great time!  I look forward to many more weekends like this in the Spring!

Our First NC Winter Storm

Over the past 24 hours, we have experienced our first Winter storm here in NC.  We only got sleet and ice, and thankfully we never lost power. Schools are closed today and Daniel didn't have to go into work. I was hoping for snow, but honestly I think the kids had just as much fun sledding down the driveway and street on the ice.  It has been a really fun morning!

The low tomorrow is 8 and on Thursday it is 6, so time will tell if we end up with any more ice or snow!  Now to go try and thaw out...
