Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was Daniel's birthday so I wanted to do a quick post dedicated to his special day. We went to dinner last night at Amsterdam to celebrate and it was so yummy! That is one of my absolute favorite places to eat so I was so excited about going! Tonight I am going to make him a special birthday dessert that I have never made before so we will see how that goes... hopefully well! Here is a picture of us at dinner...

And I will finish by finally posting my 14 week belly picture. Only 2 weeks from tomorrow until we find out if this little thing is a boy or a girl! Can't wait!!

Kids Clothes Connection

So, on Thursday afternoon, I went with a friend of mine to the Kids Clothes Connection. I had never been before so I had no idea what to expect! I had some people tell me that they found great things there, and some people tell me the total opposite. Boy was I blown away! Waiting to go in was what I would imagine black Friday to be the day after Thanksgiving (I don't get into all of that!) We waited to get in the buliding and the line was forever long. Boy was it worth it though. I knew that I was not going for clothes since we do not know yet what we are having, but I wanted to look at other things and get some ideas. Well, $120.00 later, I came home with some pretty great things as far as I am concerned. We got a highchair, a vibrating bouncer, a Bumbo seat, an exersaucer, an infant bathtub, and a playmat. I could not believe how much stuff was packed in there. And it was a huge building anyway. Then Daniel and I went back on Saturday and we got a crib mattress and some videos for my classroom. I am so excited about the things we got and I can't wait to be able to use them! Now we just have to figure out where to store them in the meantime! Here are the pics of our purchases (minus the mattress).
Then on Saturday, we got to spend most of the day with Tucker. I got a cute picture of him eating lunch at Jim Bob's.

Also this weekend, Daniel has been sanding furniture getting ready to stain it. He has been working so hard and I am so thankful for him! His birthday is on Tuesday and we are getting a new front door for his birthday. So we went to Lowe's Saturday and picked out a door and will hopefully be getting it this week. Speaking of doors, ours looks terrible so I decided that I wanted to do something with it even before we get our new one. Well, at our wedding, we had the most beautiful wreaths hanging on the front doors of the church and we have had them sitting at my parents' house ever since. I decided that it was finally time to hang them. I figured it would make our door look somewhat better while we are waiting on our new one. So this afternoon, I hung the wreath and I think it looks great! Of course, it will look so much better on the new black door, but this will do for now. We are having a large crowd over tonight and I wanted something pretty on the door to spruce things up a little bit. So anyway, here is a picture of the door...

Speaking of the large crowd coming over, I better go get things ready! Have a great week! :)

Date Night and Such...

This weekend was a fairly eventful one for us, but it was so much fun! Friday night was our date night and I had been looking forward to this all week! Daniel and I are going to try and alternate who plans the date nights so that one of us is not doing it every time. This time was mine. Some of you may not understand my obsession with this particular restaurant, but I absolutely love Steak N Shake. I mean I LOVE it! I am not an expensive restaurant kind of girl. Take me to Chick Fil A or some other place that has fabulous chicken and I am oh so happy. But there is not a Steak N Shake in town so we have to drive to Columbus when we decide to eat there. So that is where we went on Friday night and it was amazing! I am finally really beginning to notice an increase in my appetite now, so we might be making more frequent trips there in the near future. If I have craved anything so far, it has definitely been french fries which I am sure I will pay for later. And who could not love Steak N Shake's fries?? One of a kind!

Anyway after we left there, we drove over to the movie theater to see if anything was playing that we really wanted to see, but there wasn't. But on the way to the theater, I noticed a Motherhood Maternity. So we ended up going there and spending some time browsing. It was a really nice store, and my first time ever in one so I was glad that we stopped. They have a lot more to choose from than any other maternity store I have been in so far so that was a lot of fun!

After we left Motherhood Maternity, we topped off our night with some good ol' fashioned Krispy Kreme donuts. What a perfect end to an already fabulous night! We ate one there and then brought one back for breakfast. So that was the end of our date night. Then we headed home and were already getting excited about Saturday because my parents gave us tickets to the Auburn game for that night. Daniel and I have never been to an Auburn game together and it has been over 2 years since either of us has been to a game period. So we were excited to go. The only thing I was not looking forward to was the time of the game being so late. It was not supposed to start until 6:45 and if you know me, you know that I am not a late night person. We are usually in bed by 9:00. Truth be told I could probably go to bed earlier than that some nights. But in our defense, we are up by 5:30 AM during the week. Anyway, I had to do some serious napping on Saturday to prepare myself for the adventures that lay ahead that night. We left about 4:15 and headed over. We had tickets to the hospitality tent before the game so we were able to go over and eat. The setup was very nice! They had a huge tent and lots of tables set up, with tv's showing other football games for people to watch. Longhorn catered it and it was very nice! After we ate, we were walking over to the stadium when we ran into a good friend of ours, Brad.

I don't think we have seen him since our wedding so it was nice to run into him and catch up a little bit! It is crazy how many people we knew with SO MANY people there in the first place. We were running into people left and right! So we finally made it to the stadium and had not even gotten to our seats when the bottom fell out. I mean it poured unlike anything I have seen around here in a long time! So about 1/3 of the stadium was cramped into the overhang area right outside the stadium where they sell the food and things. We waited and waited and kept hearing that they were not going to begin the game until at least 3o minutes after the last lightning strike that was within 6 miles of the stadium. So to make along story short, we left the game (before it started) and decided to go and watch it at home. We had set the tv to record it before we left so when we got home, we started it from the beginning and were happy campers in the the comfort of our own home. Maybe next time. As great of a game as it turned out to be, I do not regret our decision at all. I did not have to pay 7.00 for pizza and 4.00 for a drink. Instead I was able to eat what I wanted and not stand in line to use the bathroom. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

When we got up this morning, we went and picked up our nephew for church and had a great time! We love spending time with him! We ate lunch at Outback and then headed home. I did not get any pictures of Tucker from this morning, but I will post a fairly recent one of him anyway!

And last I will end with my 12 week and 13 week belly pictures. I hesitated to even post my 12 week because to me, I just look fat, not pregnant, in the picture. But that's all a part of it I guess. So here goes... P.S. I may have decided to take bare belly ones so that you can tell actual growth better. I did it with week 13 so we will see. Anyway, everyone have a great week!

Baby Update

I decided that I would try to take a picture of my growing belly each week and so far I have done 2 pictures... not too bad considering I feel like I am just now beginning to show a little bit. My official due date is March 26th, right around my birthday which I think is pretty neat. We are hoping that the baby will decide to come a little early, like spring breakish, when Daniel has a whole week off from school. But since we don't get to choose these kinds of things, we will take whatever happens and know that it will work out! I am very excited that I get to take the rest of the school year off so I will have 4 full months off to stay home with baby Mundie!

But first things first, I will start with a picture of how we told our parents that we are expecting. We thought and thought and finally came up with this idea (that I wish I could claim as my own but sadly I can't). I think it turned out pretty cute though.
The next picture is my 10 week and 2 day pregnant belly. I was so excited b/c it was the first day I woke up and actually felt like I was looking a little bit pregnant so we decided that day to go ahead and start documenting with pictures.

And the last one is 11 weeks and 2 days...

I would have taken my 12 week picture yesterday, but since I have been sick, I decided to wait until later in the week. I will add it later though. :)

My First Blog!

Well, I am totally new to the blogging world. I absolutely LOVE reading everyone else's blogs, so I decided to start one myself. At first I was worried that I would not have anything to write about or I probably would have started one a long time ago. But I am going to try and update once a week or so. We will see how this goes...

One reason I am starting this now is that I have been cooped up inside the house for the past 2 days being sick :( I figured this would be something fun to occupy my time. I went to the doc this morning and they tested me for flu, which was negative thank goodness, and decided to treat me for Bronchitis. I feel much better than I did yesterday, so I hope this is going to pass quickly! I can't afford to miss too much work these days, which brings me to the next reason I decided to start a blog... I am pregnant!! I am a little over 12 weeks now and things have been going great! I go back to the doctor on Wednesday and we will get to hear the heartbeat again! We could not be more excited! And in only 4 more weeks, we will get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. We totally do not care either way, we would love either, but I have had a feeling since the beginning that it's going to be a girl. So we will see. I could be totally wrong. I have nothing to base that on other than a "feeling". Time will tell. Stay tuned for more info and pictures as I try and figure this whole blog thing out!
